Every morning, the security guard at work waits outside the glass door and opens it with a flourish when he sees mom walk up.
“Good morning,” he says brightly, bowing slightly, and quickly follows mom to open another set of glass doors that lead to her work area. “Miss, may I say you’re looking beautiful today? Enjoy your day,” the guard will say, before resuming his post at the front desk.
Every day, mom gets a variant of “You’re looking lovely today! Sunshine! What a gorgeous smile! You just brightened my day! Do I make you blush?” Ordinarily, if it were dad or some other reasonably attractive male passing these comments, mom would be in seventh heaven.
As it stands, the only man calling her beautiful on a regular basis happens to be 74 years old, has five great grandchildren, and is short and stout.

Does the old man pay similar compliments to everyone? I must say tho that your Mom's description of your Dad in general seems like a prose-caricature... an exaggeration of reality. If Dad is really like how Mom describes him, he seems to have the charisma and charm of 2 month old stale milk! Hope not.

Mom must have seen something in dad for her to have married him, and to stay married to him all these years. There must be something about the guy that gives her the warm fuzzies when she thinks about him at work, makes her desperately miss him when he’s away, drives her into his arms when she needs comforting and gives her goose pimples when he brushes past her.
The woman’s weird that way. For all of dad’s faults that she flaunts, if she had to pick a mate again, mom would pick the same one without hesitation. Go figure!
Now I am really confused I must say! Women.... why are they soooo complicated? Glad to hear that there is still magic between your Mom and Dad tho.
