Forty Winks

It’s that time of the afternoon when your eyelids begin to close involuntarily and you resist stupor with every fiber of your being, not because you want to but because you have to.

Of course, you’ve tried everything. You’ve pushed lunch back by an hour; you steer clear of curd rice; you blink very rapidly; you call your brother to gossip; you check the Web; you stand up and stretch; you take restroom breaks; heck, you even sit on the toilet and lay your head on your knees. You’re so desperate, you’ll do anything to stop your face from crashing onto the keyboard.

The dark space under your desk looks mighty inviting. You can reposition some of those computer cables, spread a charpoy and curl yourself into a fetal position. Hell, if they allowed you, you’d happily drool on those useless reports and cookie crumbs that litter your desk.

Instead, you suppress yawn after yawn and watch the clock, willing it to move faster, so you can go home, get a good night’s rest and go through the same motions the next day.

You should go to Youtube.com. Hours of fun, just browsing all the 'stupid human tricks' and such on the site.. Just be careful not to laugh/smile too loudly.

Laying your head on your knees while sitting on the pot!??! Maybe this is a woman thing.. cause I don't think any guy would ever want his head that close to the pot, especially in a psuedo-public restroom. (Disclaimer: I am not an MCP or trying to be sexist so pls dont hate me for making this observation:))

M: You're a doctor, right? From what I watch on television, you guys are on your feet all day; not dwelling in cubicles pretending to work.

'twasn't me: Management is already aware of the existence of such a site and has craftily blocked employee access to it.

You have never "Worked from home", I gather. Especially when it is a one-bedroom apartment, with the computer terminal right next to the comforable bed ! I have. Sigh !

I once went to the restroom, sat atop the counter, laid my head on the glass, and took a nice long nap.
